Scope
This policy applies to the Taiwan Eye iOS app provided by JING-XIANG ZHANG (Voss Zhang). It does not cover Apple or other third-party services you choose to access through the app.
Taiwan Eye is an independently developed third-party traffic tool. It is not an official government app and does not represent any government agency.
Information we do not collect
Taiwan Eye has no user accounts or advertising and does not include analytics or behavioral tracking. The developer does not receive your name, email, contact details, device identifiers, location, favorites, or usage history.
Location information
If you grant location permission, the app uses your current location on your device to show nearby cameras, sort results by distance, and center the map. Your location is not sent to the developer or used for tracking.
You may decline or disable location access at any time in iOS Settings. The map, search, camera feeds, and favorites remain available without it.
Information stored on your device
The following information is stored locally to provide core features and is not sent to the developer:
- Saved camera locations
- Display, map, and other feature preferences
Network and third-party services
The app connects to twipcam Taiwan Live Camera to download camera locations and live imagery. This data is provided under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Taiwan licence.
The app uses Apple Maps for maps and locations and may offer Look Around where available. When you actively open navigation, the destination is handled by the map service you select.
These third-party services may process technical request information needed to provide their services under their own policies. Camera accuracy, timeliness, and availability depend on the original source.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
Local data remains until you remove the related favorite in the app or delete Taiwan Eye from your device. You may also change location permission at any time in iOS Settings. Because the developer does not hold personal app data about you, there is no account data for the developer to export or delete on your behalf.
Children's privacy
Taiwan Eye is not directed specifically at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This website and the app
The Voss website hosting this policy uses Cloudflare for hosting and content delivery, Google Analytics for aggregate page traffic, and Google Fonts for web typography. These website services are separate from Taiwan Eye app data practices and may process technical request information needed to provide the site under their own policies.
Changes and contact
